"If we value independence, if we are disturbed by the growing conformity of knowledge, of values, of attitudes, which our present system induces, then we may wish to set up conditions of learning which make for uniqueness, for self-direction, and for self-initiated learning."
— Carl Rogers
Almost three decades ago, the Children’s Studio first opened its doors with an enrollment of one student. Over the years it has thrived, becoming one of the most respected preschools in the town of Montclair, NJ. The school is located in the Quaker Meeting House at 289 Park Street in Upper Montclair on the corner of Park Street and Gordonhurst Avenue. It is non-funded, non-denominational, and multicultural. The Children’s Studio is known for its emphasis on a creative approach to living and learning, true respect for individual differences, encouraging the development of the unique learning style of each child, and maintaining an excellent teacher-to-student ratio in all age groups.
